Utah Grizzlies News Release

The Situation

The Grizzlies went 2-1 last week taking two-straight games from the Phoenix RoadRunners Thursday and Saturday at US Airways Center. Utah is currently 29-22-0-5 and sits in fifth place in the ECHL's National Conference. If the playoffs started today, Utah would open up with the Fresno Falcons in a best-of-seven series.

We'll Leave The Light On For Ya

Saturday, the Grizzlies tied an all-time team record as they ran their road unbeaten streak to eight. Utah has won seven-straight games on the road and their all-time team high for consecutive road wins is also eight. Both previous eight-game streaks stretched from January 3-January 28 of 1995 when the team was based in Denver.

Special Teams

The Grizzlies have outscored their opposition 5-1 in the last three games on special teams; tallying four power-play goals and a penalty-shot while only allowing one power-play goal. Utah is ten for their last eleven on the penalty-kill, including eight for their last eight.

What Injury?

Rookie Rob Sirianni returned to the Utah lineup this past week after missing 22-straight games injured and tallied three goals and two assists in three games. Including time before his injury, Sirianni has seven goals and seven assists in his last ten games.

This Year In Stockton

The Grizzlies are currently 2-0 at the Stockton Arena this year winning two games by a combined total of 14-7. The Grizzlies have had a player (Keith Johnson, November 24; Justin Johnson, February 6) record a hat trick in both games in Stockton this year. Utah is 4-0-0-1 overall versus the Thunder.

This Year In Fresno

The Grizzlies have currently won three-straight games at Save Mart Center and are 3-1 overall there this year.

This Week:

Friday: Utah at Stockton

Sunday: Utah at Fresno
