Bachand Traded To Phoenix

Johnstown, PA - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that rookie forward, Nicolas Bachand has been traded to the Phoenix Roadrunners. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In his first professional season the native of Laval, Quebec had four goals and six assists in 35 games for Johnstown. Bachand's 10 points ranked thirteenth on the team, and he was credited with scoring the game-winning goal in Johnstown's 6-4 win over Trenton on January 20.

In three seasons in the QMJHL between Rimouski and St. John's, Bachand had 41 goals, 43 assists, and 410 penalty minutes in 173 games.

The Johnstown Chiefs return to action this Wednesday, February 27 when the take on the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m.. The game will mark "Ladies' Night" and "Pups and Pucks Night" with the Chiefs. For the ladies, they will receive a special discount on ticket prices at the War Memorial Box Office, and will have a chance to bid on a dinner date with their favorite Chiefs bachelor. For "Pups and Pucks Night" Gittler's Aquarium and Aviary will provide a doggie bag giveaway valued at 25 dollars to the first 50 dogs through the gate. The Nardecchia Spay/Neuter Fund will also be there providing information on their services, and Stuver's Riverside Nursery will provide an outdoor "doggie restroom."
