Checkers Suspend Dusty Jamieson

Charlotte, N.C. - General manager and head coach of the Charlotte Checkers, Derek Wilkinson, announced today that the Charlotte Checkers have suspended forward, Dusty Jamieson as per rule 58 of the 2007-08 ECHL Playing Rules.

A fifth-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Jamieson has been in the Checkers lineup since the 2002-03 season. In 53 games this season with the Checkers, Jamieson has totaled 17 goals and nine assists for 26 points.

The Checkers are in their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. Their next home game takes place on March 4 against the Gwinnett Gladiators. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date.
