Grizzlies Settle For Split In Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada - The Utah Grizzlies second-straight attempt at a weekend series sweep fell short as they fell 5-1 to the Las Vegas Wranglers Saturday night at the Orleans Arena.

Las Vegas jumped to a 4-0 lead through two periods and never let Utah back in the game. The Wranglers second, third and fourth goals all came on the power-play.

Utah's lone goal came at 1:49 of the third period with Andy Sertich scoring and Trevor Smith and Scott Burt picking up assists. Burt extended his scoring streak (five goals, five assists) to six with the helper.

Las Vegas outshot Utah 33-25 in the game. The Wranglers went 3-9 on the power-play. Utah went 0-4.

Prior to the game, Utah Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced that forward Ryan Kinasewich has been recalled to the Grizzlies and Islanders AHL affiliate in Bridgeport.

The Grizzlies return home Friday and Saturday hosting Victoria at the E-Center. Face-off's both nights are scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
