
Grizzlies Rally in 3rd Period, Beat Ontario 4-3 in Shootout

Ontario, California - The Utah Grizzlies rallied to tie in the third period and went on to beat the Ontario Reign 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
The win gives Utah three of four standings points on the weekend through California after last night's 3-2 shootout loss in Stockton.
Utah took a 1-0 lead one minute into the game as Alex Krushelnyski and Mathieu Aubin fed Michael Pelech on a three-on-two for his team leading sixth goal of the year.
The Grizzlies then had to battle back from 2-1 and 3-2 deficits to force overtime.
Utah tied the contest at 2 12 seconds into a power-play as Vinny Scarsella and Barry Almeida fed H.T. Lenz in front of the net for his second goal of the year 31 seconds after Ontario took a 2-1 lead. The Utah score came with 2:15 left in the first.
Ontario took a 3-2 lead 1:09 into the second period. Utah had a five minute power-play at about the midway point of the period but was unable to score and then had to kill four-straight minutes short to keep the game at a one-goal deficit.
The Grizzlies tied the game at 3 as Patrick Wellar fed Mathieu Aubin on a breakaway pass 10:07 into third period for his third goal of the year.
Utah killed a penalty late in the third to force overtime and then two minutes down four-on-three in overtime to force the shootout. The Grizzlies went 6-6 on the penalty-kill in the contest.
Grizzlies goaltender Brandon Maxwell stopped all four shots in the shootout and Aubin and Syner scored in the bottom of rounds one and three to give Utah the win.
Utah returns home for a Veterans Day game presented by Security Services Federal Credit Union Tuesday, November 11 at 7 p.m.
The next home weekend is Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15 when Utah will host Ontario before their first Maverik Monday game of the year on Monday, November 17. On Maverik Mondays, fans can get tickets buy one get one free with their Maverik Adventure Club Card at the arena box office or six tickets for $30.
