WHEELING, WV - In the first of four head-to-head meetings between the two teams this season, the Indy Fuel fell to the Wheeling Nailers by a final score of 4-3 on Sunday at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia. With the loss, the Fuel fell to 2-5-2-1 overall this season and with seven points, remain alone in seventh place in the ECHL's North Division standings.

After a scoreless first period, the Nailers broke the ice on the power-play at 7:23 of the middle frame before Indy equalized at 12:27 when Dean Chelios notched an extra-man tally, the first goal of his professional career, to tie the score at 1-1 heading into the third period.

Wheeling's leading scorer, Riley Brace, claimed the Nailers' second lead of the game at 1:17 of the third, but leading Fuel scorer Robert Czarnik responded with a tying goal at 6:33. Wheeling made it 3-2 on Brace's second of the game on the power-play at 12:59, then Torquato's second score of the night nudged the Nailers' lead to its largest margin at 4-2 at 16:30. With the net empty for the Fuel, Patrick Cullen gave Indy hope at 17:24 with his fifth marker of the season, but Wheeling held on down the stretch for the victory in the first-ever meeting between the Fuel and Nailers.
