HEAD TO HEAD - This is the second of 10 meetings this season between the Thunder and the Mavericks. Wichita is 16-10-0 at home and 29-19-3 all-time.

SOLID D - Despite giving up three in the final period, Wichita has seen a vast improvement in their defensive effort since opening weekend. The Thunder defense is giving up 3.17 goals against per game, ranking them 14th in the league.

STREAKING - Wichita's penalty killing unit has also stiffened up. The Thunder killed off all four power plays for Rapid City and has not allowed a power play goal in the last 15 atte=AC=ACmpts by the opposition. The Thunder power play went 0-for-4 and has struggled since scoring twice on the man advantage on October 29th at Tulsa.

BORDER WAR - Wichita and Missouri meet for the 52nd time today. Wichita has had success over the years against Missouri, owning a record of 29-11-1 against the Mavericks since the 2010-11 season. The Thunder host the Mavericks four times before making their first appearance at the Independence Events Center on Black Friday.

FIRING GALLERY - Under Kevin McClelland, Wichita has been stingy when it comes to allowing shots on net. The Thunder are fifth in the league in shots allowed per game at 26.33. The offense, however, is on the opposite site of the spectrum, ranking 27th in the league in shots for per game at 24.67. Missouri is dead last in the league in shots for per game at 22.50 and rank 10th overall in shots allowed per game at 27.33.
