
Grizzlies Open Trip With 3-1 Loss

Bakersfield, California - The Bakersfield Condors broke open a third period tie and defeated the Utah Grizzlies (3-7-2) 3-1 Tuesday afternoon at Rabobank Arena.
Utah scored first at 1:18 of the first with Ryan Kinasewich (2) getting a goal out in front that was setup by Eric Nelson. The Condors got the equalizer at 17:16 from Brett Lutes as Utah had trouble in their own zone. The two teams skated 4-on-4 five times in the first period and combined for eight power-plays in the opening frame.
The game remained scoreless until 8:01 of the third when Todd Griffith hacked in a shot for his third goal of the year. Griffith then added a late empty-netter at 18:32. Utah was outshot 14-4 in the third period.
The Grizzlies were a season-high 11/11 on the penalty-kill and went 0-4 on the power-play.
Rob McVicar took the loss for the Grizzlies stopping 34 of 36 shots.
The Grizzlies return to action tomorrow night in Fresno. Face-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
