Cava called up by Binghamton

TRENTON, NJ (November 14, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced today that defenseman Chris Cava has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.

Cava, 26, currently leads all Titans defensemen with seven points (7a) and 29 penalty minutes in nine games. The sixth-year veteran was also named HOK Sport ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for October after finishing with a plus-minus rating of +8 in Trenton's first four contests.

Cava signed on with Trenton after splitting 2005-06 between the San Diego Gulls and the Columbia Inferno. Acquired by the Gulls on February 24, the 6-0, 200-pound blueliner totaled seven goals, 18 assists, 191 penalty minutes in 51 regular season games and also one assist in four postseason matches. Prior to last season, Cava spent three years with the Mississippi Sea Wolves (2002-05) setting career highs in 2004-05 with seven goals, 22 assists, 29 points and 214 PIM. The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario has also skated for the ECHL's Toledo Storm and Roanoke Express.
