Grizzlies Open Season Versus Ducks Tonight

The Utah Grizzlies open the regular season tonight versus the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks at the 'E' Center with a special 7:35 PM face-off time. Last season the Grizzlies went 3-1 versus the Ducks in Utah and 5-2-1 overall.

The Grizzlies are coming off a 2-0 pre-season that saw them defeat Edmonton twice in Boise, Idaho. Jeff Taffe (2A) and Kiel McLeod (1G, 1A) each had a pair of points for the Grizzlies. Goaltender Jean-Marc Pelletier made 23 saves earning a shutout in his only pre-season appearance. For the new look Grizzlies, only Jon Sim has worn a Utah sweater in the past.

Cincinnati returns Stanislav Chistov and Michael Holmqvist from last year's team that qualified for the post-season. Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov returns between the pipes for Cincy. Former Grizzlies Zenon Konopka and Tim Wedderburn are on the Ducks opening day roster. The Ducks went 0-2 in the pre-season.

Next Game: The Grizzlies will host the Ducks again on Friday night with face-off scheduled for 7:05 PM.
