Bears unveil opening night roster and captains for 2004-05

HERSHEY – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today the club's opening night roster for the 2004-05 season. The announcement was made by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst and the BEARS coaching staff.

The roster was completed with two roster moves today. Forward Paul Cabana was assigned to Reading (ECHL) and veteran defenseman Ed Campbell was signed to a player tryout contract. Campbell played for the Providence Bruins in 2003-04 and attended training camp with the Worcester IceCats.

The BEARS also announced today the team's captains for the upcoming season. Defenseman Brett Clark, who begins his third full season with HERSHEY in 2004-05, will serve as captain, while center Eric Perrin will be a permanent assistant captain. The second assistant captain will be named on a rotating basis throughout the season, with rugged right wing Dennis Bonvie earning the honors to begin the campaign Friday in Norfolk.

The BEARS open the 2004-05 season on Friday, October 15 at Norfolk before opening the home schedule the following night on Saturday, October 16.
