
Pushor Named Captain

Syracuse, NY (October 13, 2004) â The Syracuse Crunch announced today that defenseman Jamie Pushor will serve as captain for the Syracuse Crunch for the 2004-05 season. Center Brad Moran and left wing Jeremy Reich will serve as the teams' alternates. Pushor is the 13th captain in franchise history.
Pushor, 31, appeared in 17 games with Syracuse (1g, 4a, 24 PIM's) and seven games with Columbus (2 PIM's) last season prior to be traded to the New York Rangers on January 23, 2004 for an eighth round selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Pushor appeared in seven games with the New York Rangers and 14 games with Hartford (2a, 21 PIM's) last season.
Pushor helped the Detroit Red Wings win the Stanley Cup in 1996-97. In 517 career NHL games with Detroit, Anaheim, Dallas, Columbus, Pittsburgh and the New York Rangers, Pushor has tallied 13 goals, 44 assists and 648 penalty minutes. A native of Lethbridge, Alberta, Pushor was originally selected by Detroit in the second round, 32nd overall, in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
Moran, 25, appeared in 72 games with Syracuse last season, recording 24 goals, 35 assists and 44 penalty minutes. In two games with Columbus last season, Moran tallied one goal, one assist, his first NHL points, and two penalty minutes. In 254 career AHL games, all with Syracuse, Moran has recorded 72 goals, 97 assists and 147 penalty minutes.
Moran is currently ranked first on the team's all-time leaders list with 8 shorthanded goals, second with 169 points, third with 97 assists and 11 game-winning goals, tied for third with 25 power play goals, fourth with 72 goals and 254 games played. A native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Moran was originally signed as a free agent by Columbus on June 5, 2000.
Reich, 25, appeared in 72 games with Syracuse (14g, 37a, 150 PIM's) and nine games with Columbus (1a, 20 PIM's) last season. In 265 career AHL games, all with Syracuse, Reich has tallied 43 goals, 66 assists and 631 penalty minutes. A native of Craik, Saskatchewan, Reich was signed as a free agent by Columbus on May 17, 2000.
The Crunch's regular season home schedule begins on Friday, October 15, when the St. John's Maple Leafs visit the War Memorial at Oncenter for the Express Mart Opening Night. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a hand-clapper noisemaker, compliments of Express Mart.
