Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves will host a tailgate party at the Allstate Arena before the puck drops on their home opener against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Sat., Oct. 16, at 7 p.m.

Fans can enter the tailgate party which runs from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Southwest Parking Lot with their game ticket, and receive soft drinks courtesy of Pepsi and hot dogs courtesy of Vienna Beef and Chicago Baking Co. while supplies last. The band "Hairbangers Ball" headlines the event, which also features face painting and interactive games. Free parking is available from 2 to 4 p.m.

Fans have the opportunity to adopt a dog, both at the tailgate party and during the game, through Chicago's Department of Animal Care and Control¹s (ACC) Adopt-a-Dog program, which is sponsored by PETsMART.

At the party, fans can stop by the ACC's Animobile a mobile adoption unit and a modern clinic staffed by veterinarians and adoption specialists donated by Wolves Chairman of the Board Don Levin.

During the game, fans can visit "Hawgy's Doggies" named after Wolves defenseman Greg Hawgood, who is a team spokesman for the program in the East Lobby by the Customer Service Booth. This marks the first of seven appearances the Adopt-a-Dog program will make at Wolves games this season.

The first 10,000 fans for the game will also receive Wolves regular-season magnetic schedules sponsored by Pepsi.
