WMUR-TV To Carry Monarchs Home Opener

MANCHESTER, NH â The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, on Wednesday announced that for the third consecutive season, their home opener will be broadcast state-wide on WMUR-TV Channel 9. The Monarchs are slated to open their fourth American Hockey League season at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday, October 15 when they host the Worcester IceCats at 7:35 p.m.
WMUR Sports Director Jamie Staton will handle the play-by-play description of the Monarchs home opener. Joining him in the broadcast booth will be Scott Pellerin, a 10-year NHL veteran and former Hobey Baker Award winner. Naoko Funayama, the newest member of the WMUR sports team and a former hockey player at Williams College, will handle between period interviews.
