
Sound Tigers Go 3-0-0-1 In Shelton

The Sound Tigers were unbeaten-in-regulation, 3-0-0-1, in four preseason games, all of which were played at the Rinks at Shelton where the team held its training camp.
FRI OCT 1st vs. ALB, 4-0 W: CHRIS CAMPOLI scored one goal and assisted on two others in his professional debut, BLAINE DOWN had a goal and an assist, and SEAN BERGENHEIM and BARRETT HEISTEN scored once each as the Sound Tigers opened the preseason with an impressive 4-0 win over the Albany River Rats. DAVID CANN, 18 saves, and ALEX WESTLUND, 12 saves, combined for the shutout. The Sound Tigers were 1 for 4 on the power play and 4 for 4 on the penalty kill. Albany had a 30-23 shots on goal advantage.
MON OCT 4th vs. SPR, 4-3 OTW: CHRIS CAMPOLI notched a hat trick, including the tying and deciding goals on the power play, as the Sound Tigers rallied for a 4-3 overtime win over the Springfield Falcons. BARRETT HEISTEN had a goal and an assist, BRUNO GERVAIS notched two assists, DIETER KOCHAN made 15 saves on 17 shots, and WADE DUBIELEWICZ stopped 14 of 15 shots. The Sound Tigers were 2 for 6 on the power play and won despite being outshot 32-30. Springfield was 2 for 4 on the advantage.
WED OCT 6th vs. LOW, 3-0 W: The line of JOHN MORLANG, two goals, ERIC GODARD, two assists, and GRAHAM BELAK, one assist, combined for five points; KEITH ALDRIDGE scored shorthanded; and DAVID CANN, seven saves, and WADE DUBIELEWICZ, 14 saves, combined for the shutout as the Sound Tigers blanked the Lowell Lock Monsters 3-0. The Sound Tigers were 0 for 4 on the power play, 6 for 6 on the penalty kill and had a 36-21 shots on goal advantage.
SAT OCT 9th vs. HAR, 4-3 SOL: RYAN KRAFT, SEAN BERGENHEIM and JIM CAMPBELL scored; and KEITH ALDRIDGE had two assists as the Sound Tigers built a 3-0 lead. However, JOZEF BALEJ scored once, and DOMINIC MOORE scored twice as the Hartford Wolf Pack rallied to tie the game in the final 55 seconds of regulation. CHAD WISEMAN then notched the deciding goal in the seventh round of the shootout, the first in Sound Tigers history. The Sound Tigers were 1 for 9 on the power play and 9 for 9 on the penalty kill. Hartford had a 36-25 shots on goal advantage. DIETER KOCHAN stopped all 15 shots he faced before being relieved by WADE DUBIELEWICZ ten seconds shy of the mid-point of the game. JASON LABARBERA played the entire game for the Wolf Pack stopping 22 of the 25 shots he faced in regulation and overtime, as well as six of seven in the shootout.
THIS WEEK â Sound Tigers To Open Season With Three Straight Home Games, Two This Weekend The Sound Tigers will open the 2004-05 regular season, their fourth in Bridgeport and fourth as the top affiliate of the Islanders, with a three-game home-stand, including two games this weekend. The Sound Tigers will host Albany Saturday and the Philadelphia Phantoms Sunday.
SAT OCT 16th vs. ALB, 7:05 p.m.: This will be the first of eight meetings of the teams this season, the first of four at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. The Sound Tigers are 14-5-5 all-time versus the River Rats, including 3-2-3 last season. Albany finished the 2003-04 season in seventh place in the East Division with 62 points and a 21-39-11-9 record, including 7-22-6-5 on the road. The River Rats will open the regular season at home versus the Binghamton Senators this Friday. The Sound Tigers will also host Albany this coming Wednesday and visit the River Rats next Friday, October 22nd.
SUN OCT 17th vs. PHI, 4:05 p.m.: This will be the first of eight meetings of the teams this season, the first of four at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. The Sound Tigers are 7-7-2 all-time versus Philadelphia, including 3-3-2 last season with the Phantoms clinching the East Division Championship via a scoreless tie in Bridgeport on the second-to-last day of the regular season. Philadelphia also finished just one point behind the Hartford Wolf Pack and Calder Cup Champion Milwaukee Admirals in the overall AHL standings last year with 101 points and a 46-25-7-2 record, including 22-14-4 on the road. The Phantoms then beat the Norfolk Admirals four games to two in the East Division semi-finals but were eliminated by same margin by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the division finals. Philadelphia will open the regular season in Hartford this Saturday.

Individual-game tickets can be purchased at the Harbor Yard box office, which is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. weekdays. The box office also opens at 12 noon on weekend game days and remains open until the end of the first period during all games.
