Grizzlies Drop Second-Straight To Phoenix

Phoenix, Arizona - The Phoenix RoadRunners scored three first period power-play goals and defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-0 Saturday night at US Airways Center.

Utah committed five minor penalties in the first 10:29 of the game and Phoenix took advantage with goals from Daniel Sisca, Justin Maiser and Scott Kelman. The Phoenix game-winner came at 3:02 of the first.

After five-straight Phoenix power-plays to start the game, Utah was then awarded seven of the game's next eight chances; moving into the midway point of the second period but was unable to score. Utah went 0-8 on the power-play; Phoenix went 3-6

Ryan Kinasewich led Utah for a second-straight night with shots; he had nine.

Brett Jaeger stopped 15 of 20 through two periods, before being relieved by A.J. Bucchino who stopped nine of 10 shots to complete the game.

The Grizzlies and RoadRunners meet again Sunday at US Airways Center. Face-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Utah's home opening weekend is Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27 when they will host Idaho at the E-Center. All Grizzlies home games start at 7:05 p.m.
