Salmon Kings Host Rock The Rink At Home Opener

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that the organization will host the "Rock the Rink" prior to the team's home opener on Friday, October 26, 2007.

Rock the Rink is a free outdoor concert and activity area for fans coming to see the Salmon Kings take on the Las Vegas Wranglers as well as the general public. The event will be held outside of the main entrance of the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

The Usual Suspects will provide the pregame the music to help get the crowd ready for the game! At the same time, Victoria Minor Hockey Association will also be hosting an interactive Kids Zone for children 12-and-under. The festivities will kick off at 5:45 p.m.

The Usual Suspects will take the stage and warm up the fans leading up to puck drop between the Salmon Kings and Las Vegas Wranglers. After the game, the group would like to invite all fans to continue the party at the V-Lounge for The Usual Suspects Halloween Dance Party.

While the band is working the crowd, Victoria Minor Hockey Association will host the Kids Zone. This interactive promotion will allow children 12-and-under to test their hockey skills. The various stations set up will include Target Shooting, Beat the Goalie (including a special appearance from Marty the Marmot), a Radar Shot Clock, and more!

The radio station 100.3 The Q will also be on site throughout the evening. They will be broadcasting from both outside the arena, and from inside the Islander Lounge at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Other highlights include a Season Tickets Kiosk where fans can find out more information on ticket deals available in 2007-2008!
