Grizzlies Drop Home Finale to the Admirals, 3-1

West Valley City - The Utah Grizzlies finished their regular season home campaign dropping a 3-1 decision to the Milwaukee Admirals at the 'E' Center in front of 8,472. Scottie Upshall contributed two of the Admirals' three unanswered goals to help Milwaukee get the victory. Wade Flaherty earned a win with 21 saves. The Grizzlies were eliminated from contention for a playoff berth for the first time since the 2000-01 season.

Jarrod Skalde gave the Grizzlies an early lead at 4:56 of the first period. Three Admirals goals would follow beginning with a shot by Upshall that caught the net at the 8:54 mark. A Wyatt Smith goal would follow with 25 seconds remaining in the first frame. After a scoreless second period Upshall would strike again scoring his second of the night and his 13th of the season on the only power play opportunity that Milwaukee converted in eight tries. Dan Ellis finished with 29 saves. The Grizzlies managed three wins in ten games to end the season series against the Admirals.

Skalde was honored before the game with the AHL's Man of the Year Award for his involvement in charitable efforts in the community.

The Grizzlies will be on the road for the last two games of the season taking on Cleveland on Friday with a 5:05 pm (mst) face-off. San Antonio will host Utah on Saturday night.
