Bears continue playoff push tonight in Albany
April 7, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
Three regular season games remain, and the BEARS can pull within one point of the Norfolk Admirals tonight for the final playoff spot in the East Division standings. With a win tonight over Albany combined with Norfolk losses in Bridgeport and Binghamton Thursday and Friday, the BEARS can clinch a playoff spot Saturday with a win over the Admirals at GIANT Center. Should the BEARS win tonight and Norfolk win one of its next two games, the BEARS will need to win Saturday and Sunday against Norfolk and Philadelphia to clinch a playoff berth for the 11th consecutive season. Peter Budaj is expected to draw the start tonight for the second consecutive game. Budaj was the game's number one star Sunday in a 3-1 win over Springfield, making 37 saves.
Brett Clark was assigned last night by the Colorado Avalanche to the BEARS. He is expected to be in the lineup tonight against Albany.
Tonight is the final road game of the 2003-04 regular season. You can hear the call of the game on WSJW 92.7 FM beginning at 6:40 p.m. with the pre-game show. John Walton calls the action from New York's Capital District.
