
IceCats reach six feet, seven inches

WORCESTER, MA â St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau announced today that the IceCats have signed left winger Mitch Fritz to an AHL Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
At 6-7, 250 pounds, Fritz would become the tallest and heaviest player to suit up for the IceCats if he dons the IceCats Blue & Teal tonight. The 23 year old left winger played the 2003-2004 season with the Columbus (GA) Cottonmouths of the ECHL where he registered three goals, nine assists and 149 penalty minutes in 64 games: 64(3/9/12)149. This will be his fifth stint in the AHL, having played five games with Lowell in 2000-01, 13 games with Hamilton and 11 with Saint John in 2001-02 and most recently 13 games with Milwaukee last season. His four year professional totals reflect 226 games, 14 goals, 25 assists and 780 PIM's: 226(14/25/39)780.
The IceCats conclude the regular season with home games tonight against Hartford, Friday against Manchester and Saturday against Providence. All Centrum Centre games begin at 7:05 PM. Friday night is NASCAR Night with the #20 Tony Stewart Home Depot Chevy and the #18 Bobby Labonte Interstate Batteries Chevy on display. Saturday is Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Verizon Wireless, with the first 1,000 fans receiving a Johnny Pohl Bobblehead compliments of Coca-Cola and Honey Farms.
