
Grizzlies Defeat Texas 5-3 Wednesday

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Texas Wildcatters 5-3 Wednesday night at the E-Center.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first at 17:05; Utah responded 47 seconds later with a power-play goal from Andy Sertich to tie the game at one heading into the first intermission.
In the second, Utah scored three goals in 1:19 to build a 4-1 lead from the 4:40 mark of the period to 5:59. Brendan Cook, Travis Rycroft and Joel Irving all tallied goals during the run. Utah then killed two separate 5-on-3 shorthanded situations in the period and held a 4-2 lead into the second intermission.
In the third, Rob McVicar stopped 16 of 17 shots and Eric Nelson added a late empty-netter to give Utah the win.
Jimmie Kraft collected two assists for Utah in the game.
The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Friday and Saturday hosting Texas again. Face-offs both nights are scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
