Jackson Called up to Grand Rapids

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that defenseman Jim Jackson has been called up to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Jackson makes his first career trip to the AHL and joins former Gladiators teammate Jeff Campbell in Grand Rapids.

Jackson currently leads the Gladiators in plus/minus with a +22 rating while ranking 5th overall in the ECHL in that category. In 54 games this season with the Gladiators, Jackson has posted 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points.

The Marquette, Michigan native spent the 2005-2006 in Germany with Kaufbeuren ESV, posting 4 goals and 26 assists in 52 games. He began his professional career with the Gladiators and played for Gwinnnett during the 2003-04 season and the 2004-05 season.

Jackson should be available for the Griffins for their game tonight at Rochester against the Americans at 7:05 p.m.
