West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (33-26-5-3) defeated the Idaho Steelheads (45-17-2-4) 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night at Maverik Center before 7,075 fans on Tribute To Military Night.

$18,972 was raised by the team in the post-game jersey auction for the Salt Lake City Fisher House.

Utah goaltender Eric Levine stopped a Utah season-high 45 shots, including 7 in overtime and four-straight in the shootout to improve to 2-0 with Utah and 3-1 overall this year.

"There is no better opportunity than when you have the game in your hands," said Levine. "As a goalie you either want to be out there or don't. I wanted to be out there. This was too important for a lot of the people in the stands with all the veterans."

Rookie Cam Wojtala, who had one assist and left late in the third period with an injury, returned and scored the game-winning goal in round seven of the shootout before the final Levine save.

"I was just happy that we got two points," said Levine. "That was the biggest thing. It would have been all for nothing if we didn't get out of there with two points. Our team battled hard. It's fun to play behind those guys."

After Levine made several big saves to keep the game scoreless in the first period as Utah killed 1:24 of five-on-three shorthanded time, the Grizzlies took a 2-0 lead with goals from Ray Macias (1) and Ryan Hayes (28).

2-1 in the third period, the Grizzlies scored from 200 feet away as Mathieu Aubin won a face-off with the Grizzlies shorthanded and Corey Fienhage's clear ended up in the back of the net.

Idaho scored two goals in the second half of the third to force overtime.
