Grizzlies Acquire Aubin, Pelech from Cincinnati

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced today that the team has acquired forwards Mathieu Aubin and Michael Pelech from the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for future considerations.

Aubin, 27, served as the Cyclones captain from December 2011 to May of 2013 and won two Kelly Cup Championships in Cincinnati in 2008 and 2010. In addition, he won a Calder Cup Championship with Hamilton of the AHL in 2009. In 346 career ECHL games with Cincinnati and Bakersfield, Aubin has totaled 125 goals and 184 assists for 309 points in 346 games. He was named the ECHL's Plus Performer of the Year in 2011-2012 with a plus-25 rating. Last season, the 2005 draft pick of Montreal, had 18 goals and 28 assists for 56 points in 67 games with Cincinnati.

Pelech, 24, has spent the last two years in Cincinnati, where he totaled 29 goals and 77 assists for 106 points in 110 games. He was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2009 NHL Draft. He played against Utah with the Ontario Reign from 2008-2010. He played 18 games last year in the AHL with Connecticut, Peoria and Worcester.

This Weekend

Friday is Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Night featuring Monique Pineault, the wife of Grizzlies forward and assistant captain Adam Pineault.

Saturday is "Pooch on the Pond" where fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the game for a $24 a person with their dog. After Saturday's game is a free post-game skate. Skate rental is $2.

Monday is the first Maverik Monday of the year. Get six tickets for $30 with a receipt from Maverik.

Face-off all three nights is at 7 p.m.
