Matchup:

For the first time this season, the Solar Bears will face an opponent from outside the South Division as the Elmira Jackals come to town. Orlando has been inactive since a matchup against the Florida Everblades at the Amway Center last Saturday night that saw the Everblades edge out the Solar Bears by a 2-1 score. F Ian Slater tallied the Orlando goal in the first period for his second goal in as many games. The Jackals faced Florida at the Germain Arena yesterday, falling behind 4-0 in the second period before mounting a comeback effort. After a pair of third period goals, Elmira climbed to within two before F Mike Merrifield secured a 5-2 win for the Everblades with an empty net goal. The Solar Bears went 1-1-1-0 against the Jackals last season.

The Solar Bears are holding Military Appreciation Weekend for their games against the Toledo Walleye on Sunday and Monday, November 10th and 11th. Goaltender Christopher Gibson set a new season high for Orlando by stopping 37 of 39 shots on Saturday and 20 of 22 shots in the second period. G John Curry had set a season high for Orlando with 34 saves the night before... D Myles Harvey made his Solar Bears debut on Saturday. He received a fighting major midway through the contest... F Ian Slater has scored in back-to-back games... F Jacob Lagace is two games shy of 200 in his professional career. He has played 120 games in the AHL and 78 games in the ECHL... Orlando will be without Kory Nagy for the first time tonight as he was loaned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL) earlier this week.

Jackals Notes:

The Jackals have scored eight of their 13 goals this year during the third period... Elmira has played just six games this season, tied for fewest in the league... The Jackals are one of only four teams in the ECHL that have not yet had a game go past regulation...F Artem Demkov has a four-game goal streak, and last night against Florida he scored once on the power play and once shorthanded... F Artem Demkov leads the Jackas with five goals... F Philip-Michael Devos leads the team with five assists... Elmira is 14th on the power play at 13.0% (3-for-23) and 18th on the penalty kill at 80.8% (21-for-26).
