Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have traded forwards Mathieu Aubin and Michael Pelech to the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for future considerations.
Aubin, now in his eighth year as a professional, had amassed 275 points (112 goals, 163 assists) in 291 games for the Cyclones - ranking second on the club's all-time list. He was a member of both of Cincinnati's Kelly Cup Championship teams in 2008 and 2010.
Pelech, a 24-year-old Toronto, Ontario native, played 110 games in his Cyclones career - totaling 106 points (29 goals, 77 assists) and 172 penalty minutes in that stretch. He also contributed 11 tallies (4 goals, 7 assists) in 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games last spring.
"We are very appreciative of the work that both Mathieu and Michael have given the Cyclones over the years," said Head Coach Ben Simon, "However, we feel that this decision is in the best interest of our organization. We wish them nothing but the best in the future."
Cincinnati will close out its five-game road stretch tomorrow night when they visit the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30pm. Fans can hear all the action of the game on the Cyclones Radio Network (CyclonesHockey.com, America One, Cyclones Mobile App) beginning at 7:00pm ET and watch live at Game Time Sports Bar and Grill.
