Grizzbee Partners with D.A.R.E. for Upcoming Graduations

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH (February 6, 2003)- Utah Grizzlies' mascot Grizzbee will be appearing at three D.A.R.E. graduations at local elementary schools on February 11th, 13th and 18th.

D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a program that will benefit more than 26 million kids in the United States this year. The curriculum was developed by educators and is taught by trained police officers. D.A.R.E. teaches complex reasoning and decision-making and focuses on responsibility among kids and how to resist peer pressure.

Kids that have made it through the program will be graduating in the next several weeks at several different locations. Grizzbee will be attending the graduations at Holt Elementary School on February 11th, at Hill Field Elementary School on February 13th and at South Clearfield Elementary School on February 18th.

"We know the importance of keeping kids off drugs and the Grizzlies enjoy being role-models to the kids showing what hard work, focus and dedication can accomplish," said Grizzlies Community Relations Manager Jared Youngman. "These kids have worked hard and accomplished a lot and have nothing but bright futures ahead of them and we as an organization would like to applaud their efforts."

February 11 at Holt Elementary School- 2:00 PM
February 13 at Hill Field Elementary School-2:00 PM
February 18 at South Clearfield Elementary School-2:00 PM
