Van Hoof Called Up To Springfield

Pensacola, FL - Pensacola Ice Pilots Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Todd Gordon announced that defenseman Jeremy Van Hoof has been called up to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

Van Hoof has played in 45 games for the Ice Pilots this season scoring 4 goals, 4 assists for 8 points and has picked up 35 penalty minutes. His +23 is the best plus/minus rating on the team and among all defenseman in the ECHL. Van Hoof has played in 2 games this year with Springfield picking up two penalty minutes.

The Ice Pilots will play home tomorrow night vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. It is Civic organizations night. The Ice Pilots will also play home on Saturday night vs. Louisiana at 7:05 p.m. It is Cox Communications Night. The first 3,000 fans will receive mini foam hockey sticks sponsored by Cox Cable and fans can bring their Cox Cable bill to the Civic Center box office on the day of the game and receive half price on a $10, $13 or $15 ticket. Cow and chicken cartoon characters will be at the game for the kids.

Saturday night is also Teddy Bear Toss Night. Fans are asked to bring a stuffed animal to the game and throw it on the ice when the Ice Pilots score the first goal of the game. All of the stuffed animals will be donated to local childrens hospitals.
