McNamara and Gillis Called up by AHL Teams

WHEELING, WV – The Wheeling Nailers announce today that American Hockey League Teams have called up forward Chris McNamara and defenseman Ryan Gillis.

The Lowell Loch Monsters have called up McNamara, a first year professional from Barrie, ONT. This is the first AHL assignment in McNamara's career. McNamara is second on the Nailers in scoring with 32 points on 12 goals and 20 assists in 47 games. He is tied for the team lead in power play goals with five and has one game-winning goal. He is also second on the team in shots on goal with 126. McNamara participated in the Compuware/ECHL All-Star game in January and recorded two points on one goal and one assist.

The Cleveland Barons have called up Gillis for the second time this season. Gillis was called up the first time on December 12 for one game. In 46 games for the Nailers this season, Gillis has 18 points on five goals and 13 assists. He has two power play goals and is leading the team in shots on goal with 134.

The Nailers play one game this week, Saturday night in Johnstown. The Nailers return home on Friday, February 21 against the Toledo Storm. The first 2,000 fans in attendance for the game age 14 and younger will receive a Joe Mullen bobblehead doll. Mullen, an NHL Hall of Fame player and current Pittsburgh Penguins assistant coach, will be in attendance for the game to sign autographs.
