ATLANTIC CITY BOARDWALK BULLIES (Bruins) -- F Jimmy Henkel has recorded a point in 17 consecutive games beginning on December 18. The 23-year-old Henkel has recorded 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) during that stretch. His point-scoring streak is the longest in the league this season and second longest in all of minor league hockey. ... The Boardwalk Bullies went 8-3-1 in January and own the best record in the Northeast Division at 28-10-10. ... F J.F Caudron recorded a hat trick and two assists in a 5-2 win over Greensboro on February 1. With the three-goal performance, Caudron has seven tallies over his current four-game goal-scoring streak. The just-turned 25-year-old has already set a career highs with 26 goals and 53 points this season. ... F Jade Galbraith is second among league rookies with 32 assists and 50 points.
CHARLOTTE CHECKERS (Rangers) -- The Checkers have won their first two games in February after going 8-5-1 in January, but still rank sixth in the division with 50 points in 46 games. Charlotte has won its last five home games after going only 8-9 through its first 17 contests on home ice. ... C Allan Egeland had seven goals and eight assists in the month of January, giving him 41 points in 46 games. He has recorded at least one point in each of his last 10 home games, accumulating 12 points (five goals, seven assists) over that span. ... C Eduard Pershin, who notched three goals and 10 assists during the month, leads the squad with 46 points. ... G Scott Meyer has won his last seven decisions to improve to 12-3 overall with a 2.91 goals-against average.
GREENSBORO GENERALS (Hurricanes) -- Despite going winless in their last three games (0-2-1), the Generals are knocking on Atlantic City's door for the division lead with 63 standings points, three behind the Boardwalk Bullies with one game in hand. Greensboro ran off five straight wins from January 15-29 to briefly pull into a tie with Atlantic City for the divisional top spot. ... RW Sam Ftorek leads the league with 16 power-play goals, but has only scored eight even-strength tallies. ... G Daniel Berthiaume, who ranks tied for second in the league with 20 wins, owns the league's second-best shootout save percentage at .815, stopping 22 of the 27 attackers he's faced. ... C David Whitworth recorded his 86th career assist with the club in a 4-3 shootout win over South Carolina on January 29, becoming the Generals' all-time assist leader. For the season, Whitworth has nine goals and 24 assists in 47 games.
READING ROYALS (Kings) -- The Royals went 7-3-1 in January, marking the first month in which they've been over the .500 mark. Reading ranks fifth in the division with a record of 24-22-3, good for 51 points. ... C Brian McCullough registered nine goals and 10 assists in 10 games in January and has moved into second place in the league scoring race with 68 points in 47 games. F Brad Rooney scored six goals and assisted on 12 others during the month and ranks second on the team and eighth in the league with 68 points. ... G Jeff Sanger went 7-1 in January and recorded his first assist of the season during a 7-4 win over Charlotte on January 31. For the season, Sanger is 13-8-2 with a 3.31 goals-against average.
RICHMOND RENEGADES (Sharks) -- The Renegades posted a 5-9-1 record in January and have sunk to last place in the division with a 23-24-3 record. The club has gone just 6-14-3 on the road and 0-5-2 over the last seven games away from Richmond Coliseum. ... G Marc Magliarditi made 32 saves to shut out Greenville, 5-0, on January 12. It was the second shutout of the season for Magliarditi, who is 15-16-3 with a 3.10 goals-against average on the year. His 126 career ECHL wins rank him among the top 10 on the league's all-time list. ... C Lars Pettersen recorded at least one point in eight straight games from December 26 through January 10, notching 12 points (five goals, seven assists) over that span. After having his streak snapped on January 11 against Atlantic City, Pettersen rebounded with four assists in the win over the Grrrowl the next night.
ROANOKE EXPRESS (Blackhawks) -- The Express went 9-5-1 in January and rank third in the division with a record of 28-19-3. ... C Dylan Gyori recorded four assists in an 8-3 victory over Richmond on January 18, capping a 12-game point-scoring streak. During the streak, which included a string of seven straight games with a goal, Gyori amassed 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists). After going without a point in back-to-back games, Gyori supplied four more assists on January 24 in a 6-4 win against Renegades. The soon-to-be 24-year-old ranks tied for third in the league with 66 points. ... LW Jason Jaffray was called up to Norfolk of the American Hockey League on January 18. At the time of his promotion, he was leading the league with 66 points (29 goals, 37 assists).
TRENTON TITANS (Islanders) -- D Jon Insana scored 2:27 into overtime to provide the Titans with a 1-0 victory over Toledo on February 5, extending the club's winning streak to six games. It was the first goal of of the season for Insana, who has three points in 18 games with Trenton. G Andrew Allen, making his first appearance with the club after going 5-9-3 with a 3.48 goals-against average with Dayton, made 14 saves to record the shutout. With the win, Trenton improved to 25-16-7, good for 57 points and fourth in the division. ... C Adam Edinger has posted a six-game point streak, including a four-game goal-scoring streak, from January 18-February 2. During the streak, Edinger notched 11 points (five goals, six assists) and leads the team with 26 goals and 48 points in 39 games. ... LW Scott Bertoli has scored at least a point in each of his last nine games, amassing 14 points (five goals, nine assists).
Northwest Division ==================
CINCINNATI CYCLONES (Sharks) -- The Cyclones average 3.78 goals per game, which is tied for first in the league. Cincinnati has scored five goals or more in a game on 12 occasions this season. However, the Cyclones sit in fourth place in the division, two points behind Lexington for third. ... D Ryan Gaucher is currently riding an eight-game point streak and leads all defensemen with 57 points (16 goals, 41 assists). Gaucher registered a season-high five points during a 5-4 win over Augusta on February 1. He scored a pair of goals, his second multiple-goal game in five contests, and added three assists. ... The Cyclones lead the league with a 24.2 percent conversion rate on the power play (64-for-264). ... Cincinnati had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped on February 2 with a 3-1 loss at Peoria.
DAYTON BOMBERS (Blue Jackets) -- The Bombers are unbeaten over their last three games and are 6-3-1 since January 11. Dayton has 44 points and sits in sixth place in the division, three points behind Johnstown for fifth. ... C Jamie Ling recorded his 500th career point when he registered an assist during a 3-1 win over Mississippi on January 31. Ling, who also scored in the game, assisted on Tom Nemeth's second-period goal, becoming the 17th player in league history to reach the 500-point plateau. He has currently scored a goal in four straight games, including registering his first hat trick of the season against Roanoke on February 1. ... G Shane Bendera is tied for the league-lead with a 2.49 goals-against average. Bendera has started 14 of the last 16 games for the Bombers, going 7-7-1 with a 2.54 goals-against average.
JOHNSTOWN CHIEFS (Flames) -- The Chiefs have gone 6-1 over their last seven games and have 47 points, sitting three points behind Cincinnati for fourth place in the division. ... G Peter Aubry is 5-1 with a 2.82 goals-against average over his last six games. Aubry pitched his third shutout of the season, making 26 saves during a 3-0 victory over Dayton on January 25. ... F J.F. Boutin leads Johnstown with 54 points (18 goals, 36 assists). He registered a career-high six points (one goal, five assists) during a 9-4 rout of Reading on January 24. Four days later, he had two goals and two assists in an 8-2 win against Augusta. ... RW Samuel St. Pierre has 12 points (four goals, eight assists) over his last seven games, January 24-February 5.
LEXINGTON MEN O' WAR (Mighty Ducks) -- Despite a 3-2 overtime loss to Johnstown on February 5, the Men O' War still garnered a point and have 52 standings points, sitting in third place in the division. With the overtime defeat, Lexington has earned a point in each of its last four games (3-0-1). ... The Men O' War posted a season-high in goals during a 6-4 victory over Augusta on February 2. RW Marc-Andre Thinel registered a goal and three assists while C Marc Smith tallied three assists in the win. Smith has six points over his last five games (one goal, five assists) and leads the team with nine points (three goals, six assists) in the last 10.
PEORIA RIVERMEN (Blues) -- One of the main reasons the Rivermen sit only one point out of the divisional lead, and own the second-best point total in the league, is the fact that they lead the circuit in goals allowed, surrendering only 2.54 per game. ... Peoria has struggled as of late, losing two of its last three games. The Rivermen suffered a 3-1 loss to Trenton on February 1, bounced back with a 3-1 win over Cincinnati the next night, but dropped a 3-2 decision to Mississippi on February 4. It was the first time they have had two losses in three games since losing three straight, December 7-13. ... G Alfie Michaud was 8-0-1 with a 1.76 goals-against average since January 3. ... Peoria posted a plus-99 during the month of January.
TOLEDO STORM (Predators) -- Even with their 1-0 overtime loss to Trenton on February 5, the Storm moved into first place in the division with 68 points, one more than Peoria. It was only the fourth time all season that Toledo has been shut out. ... The team ranks second in the ECHL in wins with 30, a pair behind division-rival Peoria. The Storm have the best record at home, losing just two of their 22 games at the Toledo Sports Arena in regulation (16-2-4). ... G Mike Minard is 1-0-2 with a 1.99 goals-against average over his last four games. Minard came on in relief of G Doug Teskey on February 1 against Lexington after Teskey yielded three goals on just five shots in 25 minutes of action. Teskey took the loss. .... Rookie F Nick Parillo leads Toledo in scoring with 16 goals and 24 assists. His 40 points are eighth overall among first-year players.
WHEELING NAILERS (Penguins) -- The Nailers are 6-7 over their last 13 games and sit in last place in the division with 41 points, three behind sixth-place Dayton. ... G Tyler MacKay has appeared in 10 straight games, going 5-5 with a 3.42 goals-against average. During this stretch, MacKay has been on both sides of the fence. He has surrendered five or more goals on three occasions, all losses. However, he yielded only two goals in a 2-0 loss to Peoria on January 12 and blanked Dayton on 34 shots on January 18, his only shutout of the season. ... F Zenon Konopka leads Wheeling with 45 points (15 goals, 30 assists). ... RW Michael Ouellet has nine points (three goals, six assists) over his last six games, January 8-February 1.
