WHEELING, WV – Former Pittsburgh Penguins stars and fan favorites will gather at Oglebay on July 28 to tee off for charity in the 6th Annual Pittsburgh Penguins Alumni Charity Golf Classic.

Penguins' alumni members representing each decade of Penguins hockey will hit the links for tri-state charities. Over the past five years, the Penguins Alumni Classic has raised over $85,000 for charitable organizations including the Pittsburgh Sledge Hockey Team, the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Heart Camp and Achieva.

One Penguins alumnus will accompany each foursome as they compete in the scramble-style tournament at the Arnold Palmer Signature Course.

Previous alumni tournaments have featured Penguins Owner and Chairman of the Board Mario Lemieux along with fellow Hockey Hall of Famers Scott Bowman, Craig Patrick and Joe Mullen. In addition, members of the Penguins 1991 and 1992 Stanley Cup Championship teams including Paul Coffey, Rick Tocchet, Mark Recchi, Ron Francis and Ulf Samuelsson have reunited for the annual fundraiser.

Lemieux and many of his former teammates are expected to compete again in the 2003 Alumni Classic.
