Utah Grizzlies News Release

Phoenix, Arizona - Sean Fields got off to a rough start on his first night in a Grizzlies jersey, letting up two goals on three shots. Travis Lisabeth scored on the first shot of the game, shortly thereafter Cam Paddock added to the lead with a shorthanded goal. Fields' trouble continued as Nikita Korovkin extended the lead to three as the Grizzlie's Campbell and Tidball looked on from the penalty box. With 1:19 left in the period, Blake Robson took a feed from Justin Cox on the powerplay to make it 3-1.

In the second, the RoadRunner's Tifu added to the lead with another powerplay goal. The Grizzlies Ed Campbell was sent to the penalty box, and Sean Fields was removed from the game by Athletic Trainer Andy Hosler, following a play in which Phoenix crashed the net hard. The ensuing shorthanded situation allowed Lance Monych to increase the lead to 5 to 1 with a wrap-around on Grizzlies replacement goaltender Rob McVicar.

Andy Sertich was awarded his first professional point assisting on a top-shelf goal by Brad Herauf in the third period, but Phoenix answered right back with a shorthander by Justin Aikins. Mike Wirll scored the final goal of the game, his second goal in as many nights, to make it 6-3.

The teams face off again tomorrow, then the Grizzlies return to Utah for their home opener versus Las Vegas next Friday, October 27, at 7:05. Call 988-PUCK for tickets.
