Gladiators' Pelletier Named ECHL Player of the Week

The ECHL announced today that Gladiators forward Pascal Pelletier was named the ECHL InGlasCo Player of the Week for the week of December 12th thru December 18th. Pelletier is currently on recall to the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

The Labrador City, Newfoundland native posted 6 points in two games last week for the Gladiators. He tied a team record recording four goals and also had an assist in the Gladiators 6-3 win over the Columbia Inferno on December 13th.

Pelletier posted the only goal for the Gladiators in a 2-1 shootout loss on December 14th in Pensacola. The forward finished the week with five goals and an assist for six points and a plus three rating in two games with the Gladaitors.

Pelletier was called up to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League on December 16th and appeared in two game with the Bruins last weekend recorded a +1.

The second year forward currently leads the Gladiators in scoring with 30 points off of 18 goals and 12 assists in 21 games. His 18 goals currently shares third in the ECHL while he shares 6th with 30 points in the ECHL.

Acquired by the Gladiators last year in a trade with the Louisiana IceGators in exchange for Peter Flache, Pelletier posted an assist for the Gladiators in six games. Pelletier had two assists in 5 Kelly Cup Playoff games last year.

The Gwinnett Gladiators continue the 2005-06 ECHL season on the road on Tuesday, December 20th as they travel to Augusta to take on the Lynx at 7:05 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties.
