Vancouver Giants celebrate a goal against the Prince George Cougars

Vancouver, B.C. - Friday night at the Langley Events Centre, the Vancouver Giants (5-2-1-0) secured their third straight home victory - A 3-1 decision over the Prince George Cougars (5-5). Mazden Leslie, Justin Sourdif and Payton Mount supplied the goals for Vancouver while Ty Thorpe added a pair of assists. Will Gurski stopped 25 of the 26 shots fired his way to earn his first win in a Giants uniform. Riley Heidt had the lone tally for Prince George in the first period.
1st Period
PG - Riley Heidt opened the scoring for the visitors at 18:08 off a two-on-one rush with Carter MacAdams. MacAdams left the penalty box, snatched the puck and fed a perfect cross-ice feed to Heidt who one-timed it home for his fourth of the season.

2nd Period
VAN - 3:50 into the second period, Mazden Leslie (2) evened the score when he finished off his own rebound with a low backhand shot that snuck through Tyler Brennan's legs. Kyle Bochek and Ty Thorpe both earned assists.
VAN - Giants captain Justin Sourdif (5) gave the Giants their first (and last) lead of the night off the rush at 11:44. After leaving the penalty box himself, Sourdif took a feed from Ty Thorpe, raced in on a two-on-one and roofed a shot over Tyler Brennan from the right wing.

3rd Period
VAN - With time winding down in the third period, Payton Mount clinched victory for the Vancouver Giants with an empty-netter at 17:53. Justin Sourdif snagged the lone assist on Mount's third goal of the season.

- Justin Sourdif (1G, 1A) recorded his sixth multi-point game of the season.
- Ty Thorpe (2A) extended his point-streak to five straight games. In that span he's managed three goals and three assists for six points.
- With an assist on Mazden Leslie's goal, Kyle Bochek became the latest Giant to record his first career WHL point.
