Notes
The Louisiana IceGators have never lost a home opener in their history. The Gators have a 9-0 record in opening games at the Frozen Swamp. The closest any team has come to ruining that record was in 1996 when the Gators survived a late 3rd period collapse and defeated John Brophy's Hampton Roads Admirals 3-2 in a shoot out.
Wes Mason is now the new team leader in points with 3. (2-1-3)
Despite winning his first start of the year, Tyler Masters was waived the IceGators. A replacement should be announced later in the week.
Special teams have been very special for the IceGator so far this season. The Gators power play has scored 3 of the teams' 4 goals. and is 2nd in the league with a 30% success rate. Penalty killing has been even stronger as Louisiana is a perfect 8-8 on the Pepsi penalty kill.
The IceGators will practice Monday thru Thursday at the Cajundome at 10am, before leaving for Pensacola. Saturday the team will have pre-game skate at 10am.
