Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release


The Pensacola Ice Pilots won their home opener last Saturday night defeating Florida 5-4 in front of 4,004 fans at "The Hangar." Jordan Krestanovich scored two goals in the game for the Ice Pilots. Corey Neilson, Bill Kinkel and Ryan Vince also scored goals for the Ice Pilots. Reggie Berg had a hat trick for Florida and Damian Surma scored the other goal for the Everblades. The Ice Pilots had 35 shots on goal, 10 penalty minutes and went 2-4 on the power play. Florida had 34 shots on goal, 10 penalty minutes and went 0-3 on the power play. Frederic Cloutier was the winning goalie for the Ice Pilots and Rob Zepp took the loss in goal for the Everblades.

Ice Pilots play home on Friday vs. Louisiana at 7:05 p.m. and play home on Sunday vs. Augusta at 5:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots play the Louisiana IceGators on Friday night at "The Hangar" at 7:05 p.m. It will be the first game that Ice Pilots Head Coach Dave Farrish will coach against his former team as he was with the IceGators the last four seasons. It will also be the first time that IceGators Head Coach Todd Gordon will coach against his former team as he was the head coach for the Ice Pilots the last three years. The Ice Pilots have an all-time record of 24-35-5 vs. Louisiana including a record of 17-11-4 at home and 7-24-1 on the road. The Ice Pilots lost to Louisiana 3 games to 2 last season in the opening round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Ice Pilots had a record of 7-7 vs. Louisiana last year including a record of 2-5 on the road and 5-2 at home. The Ice Pilots have an all-time record of 9-3-2 vs. Augusta including a record of 4-0-1 at home and 5-3-1 on the road.

Promotions for Friday and Sunday's home games: Friday night's home game vs. Louisiana is Military Celebr ation Night. All Military active, retired and R.O.T.C. groups will receive $15 tickets for $10 by showing their military ID at the game. The Army Repel team will be at the game. Sunday's home game vs. Augusta is Family Day. Fans can purchase a family four pack which includes 4 upper level tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 cokes for $44. A family four pack that includes $13 goal seats cost $56 and a family four pack that includes $15 side seats cost $66.

Ice Pilots play at Mississippi tomorrow (Tuesday) and play at Louisiana on Saturday. Both games are at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will play at Mississippi tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots defeated Mississippi in their season opener on October 23 4-2. Chris St. Jacques, Corey Neilson, Dwayne Hay and Tyler Beechey scored goals for the Ice Pilots. Mike Jarmuth and Kerry Ellis-Toddington scored goals for the Sea Wolves. The Ice Pilots had 42 shots on goal, 38 penalty minutes and went 2-6 on the power play. Mississippi had 32 shots on goal, 24 penalty minutes and went 1-8 on the power play. Frederic Cloutier was the winning goalie and Jason Wolfe took the loss in goal for Mississippi. The Ice Pilots have an all-time record of 25-36-10 vs. Mississippi including a record of 14-16-5 at home and 11-20-5 on the road. The Ice Pilots last year had a record of 6-4-4 vs. Mississippi including a record of 2-2-3 on the road and 4-2-1 at home.

Players Back From last season on roster: Ice Pilots defenseman Corey Neilson, defenseman Aaron Gionet, forward Dwayne Hay, right wing Aaron Phillips, forward Tyler Beechey and forward Jade Galbraith are currently on the Ice Pilots training camp roster who have played for the team last season. Neilson was named the ECHL's Defenseman of the Year and made All-ECHL First Team last year leading all defenseman in scoring with 78 points. Gionet played in a total of 60 games last year for the Ice Pilots scoring 2 goals, 9 assists for 11 points and picked up 103 penalty minutes. Hay was the top goal scorer for the Ice Pilots with 29 goals and third in scoring with 59 points. Phillips played in 70 games last season scoring 20 goals, 21 assists for 41 points. Beechey was the second leading scorer on the team last season with 60 points and Galbraith played in 28 games last season picking up 22 points.

Dodge Player of the Week: Forward Jordan Krestanovich has been nominated for the ECHL player of the week. Krestanovich scored two goals including the game winner in the 5-4 home opener win vs. Florida. Frederic Cloutier has been nominated for the ECHL goalie of the week. Cloutier made 30 saves on 34 shots in the win on Saturday night. Krestanovich has been named the Dodge/Ice Pilots Player of the Week.

Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots leading scorer award this season. During the season, we will be updating you with the Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed Ice Pilots top scorer. At the end of the season, Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will present a trophy to the Ice Pilots top scorer. Fans will have an update on the Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed top scorer in the weekly release and at www.icepilots.com.

GEICO Three Stars of the Game: GEICO will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots Three Stars of the Game once again on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network this season and at every home game. Three lucky fans at home games will receive a t-shirt from the GEICO Three Stars of the Game this season. Mr. Hank Dousharm of GEICO will present the Ice Pilot player with a trophy at the end of the season with the GEICO Star of the Game award as the points will be updated throughout the season after every game on the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com and every week with the Ice Pilots Weekly Release. Season Ticket Packages are available with year round payments: Full season ticket packages and 16 game packages are available with year round payments. The following is a list of the full season ticket plan with year round payments: $22 seats for floor and glass is $49.99 per month, $15 seats for sides is $35.99 per month, $13 seats for goal and lower upper level is $32.99 per month, $10 seats for upper level is $24.99 per month.

Season tickets cost $649.44 for floor and glass seats, $459.00 for sides, $411.84 for behind the goal and lower upper level seats and $324.00 for upper level seats.

Group Tickets: Group tickets are available at the Ice Pilots office. A group of 15-24 will receive $2 off per ticket and scoreboard, public announcement recognition. A group of 25-99 will receive $2 off per ticket, scoreboard, public announcement recognition, the group leader receive two free tickets with a minimum of 25 tickets purchased and group members are eligible to become an MVP. Each group member fills out the MVP card and drops the card in the MVP box at customer service before the game and has the opportunity to win a valuable prize! Groups of 100 or more will receive scoreboard, public announcement recognition, two free tickets, MVP cards plus $3 off per ticket and an opportunity to perform the national anthem or participate in the ceremonial puck drop (Subject to availability and approval).

Assigned Players from Toronto Maple Leafs: The Ice Pilots currently have six players on the roster assigned from Toronto. They are goalie Todd Ford, defenseman Dave Turon, defenseman Dominic D'Amour, center Chris St. Jacques, center Kris Newbury and left wing Cam Keith.

Kerr's Kids: For the second season in a row the Ice Pilots are introducing "Kerr's Kids." Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite organizations devoted to helping children who are terminally ill or have special limitations to be our guest during the 2004-05 regular season for a great night of hockey. Each organization is encouraged to pick 3-4 dates throughout the regular season. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission for 12 people (We would like to have at least 6 or more children, escorts are required for the children and are counted as part of the 12). SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. If accessible seating is needed the Ice Pilots must be notified at least 2 days in advance and seating will be arranged. All members must stay in assigned seats. Please provide a list of attendee's 24 hours prior to game day. If you are interested in attending one of the Ice Pilots home game through "Kerr's Kids" please contact the Ice Pilots office at 432-7825 and ask for Melinda Palmer.

Listen to games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network with the new Ice Pilots Flagship radio home AM 1620: Fans can listen to Ice Pilots games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network. The network includes new flagship radio station AM 1620 and at icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. The pre-game show for Tuesday, Friday and Saturday's game begins at 6:50 p.m. and the pre game show for Sunday's game begins at 4:50 p.m.

Ice Pilots Offer Pay-Per-View Webcasts with B2 Networks this season. The Ice Pilots home games and several road games will be available for viewing on the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com. The Ice Pilots have partnered with B2 Networks based in Las Vegas, Nevada on the pay-per-view broadcast.

Fans will be able to click on the "Watch the Game Live" icon at the Ice Pilots website to view and listen to the game. The broadcast is available to fans with a high speed DSL or Cable modem internet connection and the charge is $6 per game. At this time a total of 58 of the Ice Pilots 72 regular season games will be available for viewing at www.icepilots.com. Fans will be able to sign up for the pay per view webcast for Tuesday and Saturday's road games.

Ice Pilots Radio Show at the Gutter Lounge again this season: The Ice Pilots Radio show will once again be broadcasted from the Gutter Lounge at Phoenix Crossing inside the new Liberty Lanes this year located at 3200 North Palafox Street. The show is broadcasted on the Ice Pilots hockey network from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Fans can hear the radio show on the Ice Pilots new flagship radio station AM 1620 and on the internet at www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. Fans can meet the players, head coach Dave Farrish and members of the Ice Pilots office staff all season long. Tyler Beechey and Aaron Phillips will be the player guests tonight on the Ice Pilots Radio Show.
