LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 1-1-1 OVERALL RECORD: 1-4-1, 3 pts.

October 29 vs. Idaho, 5-2 Loss - The Falcons got off to their best start of the season by jumping out to a pair of one-goal leads against the Idaho Steelheads. The defending Kelly Cup Champions tied the game twice by converting on their first two power play chances, though, and then took the lead for good in the final two minutes of the second period. Fresno eventually fell, 5-2.

October 30 vs. Idaho, 4-0 Win - Fresno finally put it all together to capture their first win of 2004-05. Simon Lajeunesse made 37 saves and Dan Tessier recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Falcons to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Steelheads.

October 31 vs. Idaho, 2-1 Shootout Loss - In the rubber match of their three-game weekend set with Idaho, the Falcons scored first for the third straight game. After the Steelheads tied the game early in the second, the teams remained scoreless through the next 40 minutes of regulation and overtime before Fresno succumbed in a shootout, 2-1.

THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES

Friday, Nov. 5 vs. Alaska, 7 p.m. - The Falcons get their first glimpse of the Aces and their newly acquired winger, former NHL rookie of the year and two-time Stanley Cup-winner Scott Gomez. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a Falcons team photo courtesy of J's Communications.

Saturday, Nov. 6 vs. Alaska, 7 p.m. - Fresno hosts the Aces in the finale of a two-game set with the first 2,000 fans receiving a Falcons mouse pad.

NOTES

. Lajeunesse's shutout is one of only five this season in the ECHL, and his 37 saves tie him with two others for the most saves in a shutout this season.

. Goaltender Brett Jaeger sparkled in his professional debut, making 33 saves in Sunday's 2-1 shootout loss. The rookie, who made the club out of training camp on a professional tryout agreement, is ranked third across the entire ECHL in both goals against average (0.92) and save percentage (.971).

. Jason Weaver recorded an assist during Sunday's game, giving him 300 points (127g-173a) over his eight-year professional career.

. Fresno is 14th (15.4%) on the power play and 24th (72.7%) on the penalty kill.

. The Falcons begin the week tied for sixth place in the West Division, five points behind the first-place Steelheads.
