ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades closed out this past week's action with a 2-1-0 record, which has moved them into a second place tie in the South Division. Florida picked up a pair of wins in their two home games this past week, and suffered the loss in their first road game of the season. Overall, the 'Blades enter this week's action with a record of 3-2-0 (6 pts., T-2nd South Division).

Thursday, November 4 at San Diego 10:05 PM/EST
GAME NOTES: Florida was 1-0-1 against the Gulls last season with both games coming in San Diego. Florida earned a tie in a 6-5 shootout loss in the first meeting between the teams last year, and picked up a 3-1 victory the next night over the Gulls. This is the only meeting of the year between the two clubs. Last season San Diego finished the regular season with the best record in the ECHL, collecting 108 points. The Gulls enter this week's action with a record of 2-2-1 (5 pts., 3rd West Div.)
Friday & Saturday, November 5 & 6 at Long Beach 10:30 PM/EST & 10:00 PM/EST
GAME NOTES: This will be the second and third meetings all-time between the teams. Last season the Ice Dogs collected a 6-4 victory in Long Beach in the only other meeting between the teams. These two games are the only two times the clubs will play each other this year. Long Beach enters this week with a record of 2-1-0 (4 pts., T-4th West Div.)

Tuesday, October 26 vs. Gwinnett 4-3 SOW
The Florida Everblades picked up two big division point in a 4-3 shootout win over the Gwinnett Gladiators. Florida trailed 3-1 midway through the second period before goals by Ernie Hartlieb and Brent McDonald forced the game into overtime and a shootout. In the shootout, Tom Reimann and Damian Surma each scored for Florida and 'Blades netminder Rob Zepp stopped all four shooters he faced to preserve the victory. Matt Pagnutti scored Florida's first goal of the night in the first period. Overall Zepp stopped 39 of 42 Gwinnett shots to pick up his second win of the season. Florida special teams: 0-for-4 PP, 2-for-4 PK.
Friday, October 29 vs. Mississippi 6-3 W
The Everblades poured on the offense this past Friday night, and earned two more points in the division with a 6-3 thumping of the Mississippi Sea Wolves. It was the second time this season that the 'Blades have scored six goals in a contest. Damian Surma led the way for Florida picking up the hat trick, and Everblades goaltender Craig Kowalski earned his first professional win stopping 29 of 32 Mississippi shots. Brad Church, Brian Sullivan and Reggie Berg collected the other Florida goals as the Everblades managed a season-high 42 shots on goal. Florida special teams: 2-for-5 PP, 3-for-4 PK.
Saturday, October 30 at Pensacola 5-4 L
The Everblades suffered a 5-4 loss in their first road game of the 2004-05 season this past Saturday night at the Pensacola Civic Center. The Ice Pilots used three goals in the first six minutes of the third period to help pick up the win in their home opener. The 'Blades suffered the loss despite a hat trick by Reggie Berg. Florida came close, scoring with 27 seconds left in regulation on a goal by Damian Surma, but couldn't find the equalizer in the closing moments. Rob Zepp suffered the loss in goal for Florida allowing five goals on 35 shots. Florida special teams: 0-for-3 PP, 2-for-4 PK.

ECHL Player of The Week Nominee: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Damian Surma. The 23-year-old Michigan native picked up an impressive nine points (4g, 5a) in three games this past week, including a hat trick on Oct. 29 vs. Mississippi. Surma closed out the week with a plus-4 rating.
Hit the Road Jack!: The Everblades began their season-long 7-game road trip this past Saturday night in Pensacola. The 'Blades continue on the trip when the team travels to San Diego on Thursday, then heads to Long Beach for a pair of games this weekend. The trip will conclude next week with three games in Idaho. On the trip, which will last 10 days, the Everblades will log a total of 6,355 miles! Overall this season, the 'Blades will spend a total of 72 days on the road this season! Florida doesn't skate on its home ice again until Nov. 19.
Leading the Way!: Two players from the Florida Everblades currently lead the ECHL in scoring. Damian Surma and Reggie Berg are first and second in the league with 12 and 11 points respectively. Surma also leads the league in goals with seven, while Berg ranks second in the league with six assists.
