THE MATCHUP

The Stingrays rematch with Norfolk this evening after the Admirals earned a big 8-2 victory over South Carolina last night. Greg Chase notched a hat trick for Norfolk while David Pacan and Paul Rodrigues had the lone goals for the Stingrays. The loss was the Stingrays largest defeat of the year and second straight loss. Tonight's game marks the sixth matchup between the two clubs this season. The Stingrays are 3-2-0-0 versus the Admirals. The home team has won every game in the season series thus far.

PACAN'S STREAK CONTINUES

South Carolina forward David Pacan continued his success in last night's loss to Norfolk. The forward has goals in five straight games and leads the club with 14 goals on the season. He has tied a career high for goals in a season. He posted 14 his rookie season with Cincinnati in 2012-13. Pacan's recent streak also helped him hit a milestone. With his goal in the 4-1 win over Atlanta last Friday, he notched the 50th goal of his ECHL career.

BIRTHDAY BOY

Forward Trevor Gillies is celebrating his 37th birthday today. Gillies is in his 17th year of professional hockey, and his resume includes 57 NHL games with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the New York Islanders. The noted enforcer has over 700th pro games in North America to his credit. This season with the Stingrays, Gillies has registered 41 penalty minutes in 16 games. Today is also injured forward Max Sauve's birthday as well.

RECENT RESULTS

South Carolina will look to get back on track this evening after suffering their worst loss of the season last night. The Stingrays are 2-6-1-1 in their last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Admirals are 7-3-0-0 in their past 10 games.

FORMER ADMIRALS ON DECK

South Carolina's roster features a number of players who spent time with the Norfolk Admirals when the club called the American Hockey League home. Injured forward Max Sauve, captain Andrew Rowe (currently recalled to Bridgeport), forward David Pacan and defenseman Kevin Quick all spent time with the Admirals.
