Allen, Texas -The Allen Americans broke open a scoreless game in the second period scoring four times on their way to a 7-1 win on Friday night, in front of a big crowd of 5,043 at Allen Event Center.

Greger Hanson, Chad Costello, David Makowski and Tristan King all scored in a big second period for Allen, as the Americans jumped out to a 4-0 lead after forty minutes of play. The fourth goal for Allen led to Tulsa starter Kevin Carr getting an early hook. The Americans outshot the Oilers 27-14 through two periods.

The Americans picked it right back up in the third period scoring three more times. First Greger Hanson scored his second of the night, and 9th of the season from Chad Costello and Casey Pierro Zabotel at the 2:32 mark of the second period. One minute later Nikita Jevpalovs deflected one home for his first of the season, and first with the Americans from Rick Pinkston and Danny Federico at the 3:32 mark of the period. Seven minutes later the Americans were rewarded again for going to the front of the net, as Justin Courtnall followed up a rebound for his 4th of the year, and the Americans built a 7-0 lead. The Oilers would score their only goal halfway through the third period to make the score 7-1. Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson would make a change in goal bringing in Peter DiSalvo for Joel Rumpel, to give the Allen starter a much needed rest. DiSalvo stopped the only shot he faced as the Americans would go on to win 7-1, and even the four-game week long set at a game each.

"We got off to a great start tonight," said Americans forward Greger Hanson. "Even though we didn't score in that opening period, we were getting great chances. It was nice to finally see the puck go in the net and be rewarded for our hard work"

The same two clubs meet tomorrow night at the BOK Center at 7:05 pm. Allen returns home on Sunday afternoon to meet these same Oilers at 4:05 pm to wrap up the four-game set.
