Orlando completed their second shutout victory of the season when they defeated the Greenville Road Warriors by a 4-0 score at the Amway Center last night. F Rob Mignardi kicked off the scoring 1:16 into the game, when he was able to snag a rebound off the pads of G Scott Stajcer. He added a second goal less than five minutes later and Orlando never looked back as they picked up the shutout win. G Patrick Killeen earned his second shutout of the year, and first as a Solar Bear, with a 43 save performance. Tonight's matchup marks the final meeting of the 2012-13 season between Orlando and Greenville, with the Solar Bears holding a 2-2-0-2 record against Greenville this season including a 2-0-0-2 record on home ice.
Large Crowd Expected on Sunday:
The Solar Bears are expecting a large crowd at Sunday's Fan Appreciation Day game, and are encouraging fans to get their tickets in advance. Fans attending Sunday's game should plan to leave for the Amway Center early to compensate for increased traffic. The first 3,000 fans to come through the Amway Center doors will receive a Solar Bears team photo, courtesy of AlphaGraphics, as well as a Drawstring Bag courtesy of Lincoln Tech.
Orlando Adds Olivier Fortier:
The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that F Olivier Fortier has been assigned to the team by the Montreal Canadiens (NHL) from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Fortier has played 23 games for the Solar Bears this season, notching nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points. He had a two goal game, including the game winning goal, against the Kalamazoo Wings on November 18, and had one goal and one assist in the last game he played for the Solar Bears, a 6-2 win over the Fort Wayne Komets on December 9. The Quebec, QC, native has skated in 32 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs this year and has netted two points on one goal and one assist.
Solar Bears Notes:
Last night's game was the first home game for Orlando since March 2. They are now just one win shy of 20 on home ice, with a 19-9-1-3 record at home this season... The Solar Bears improved to 14-3-0-3 at home when scoring at least three goals and are now 12-0-0-2 at home when scoring four or more times... D Derick Martin had two assists last night to earn his 100th and 101st ECHL points... Orlando had five players made their home debuts last night, as D Jason Cohen, F Brett Hartung, F Ryan Berard, F Nick McParland, and F Kyle Beattie each played their first home games for Orlando... D Ryan Blair was placed on the 21-day IR yesterday... G Mike Brodeur, D Josh Caron, F Dan Dries, D Jesse Dudas, D Sean Lorenz, and C Mathew Sisca remain on the 21-day IR... F Chris Lawrence has not played since March 2 and is not expected to play today... F Scott Tanski missed the last three Solar Bears games and is not expected to play tonight... F C.J. Severyn remains in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers.

The Solar Bears will hold the 2012-13 awards ceremony tomorrow night. The awards that will be presented are:

The Most Valuable Player Award
Players who scored their first professional goals this season will be honored, and five Top Shelf Awards handed out to those people who have shown a special dedication to helping the Solar Bears.
Road Warriors Notes:
The Road Warriors were shutout last night for the fourth time in 14 games, dating back to February 22 against South Carolina. Prior to this stretch, they had not been held scoreless for a single game this season... F Marc-Olivier Vallerand is tied for the league lead with four shorthanded goals, is 11th in the ECHL with 63 points and is tied for fifth with 43 assists... Defenseman T.J. Reynolds is second in the league with 48 minor penalties and is fifth among defensemen with 153 PIM... F Jordie Johnston is tied for ninth among rookies with 42 points... Greenville is 21st on the power play at 14.0 percent (38-for-272) and 20th on the penalty kill at 80.1 percent (237-for-296)... F Marc-Olivier Vallerand leads the team in assists (43) and points (63), F Brandon Wong leads the team in goals (24).
