
'Blades Add Forward Carzo and Defenseman Cornell

ESTERO, Fla. - The Florida Everblades announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Rocco Carzo and defenseman Mike Cornell.
Carzo, 22, joins the 'Blades after posting a career best 19 points (9g, 10a) in 34 games played during his senior season at University of Massachusetts - Amherst. The 6-1, 203-pound forward totaled 48 points (18g, 30a) in his four-year collegiate career with the Minutemen. The Media, Pennsylvania native also played two seasons with the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers totaling 51 points from 2007-2009.
Cornell, 25, heads to Florida after setting a career best 10 points (3g, 7a) this season at the University of Maine. The 6-0, 195-pound blue-liner registered 29 points (5g, 24a) during his four seasons with the Black Bears. The Franklin, Massachusetts native accumulated 27 points (6g, 21a) in 45 appearances with the Manchester Jr. Monarchs (EJHL) during the 2008-09 season.
The Everblades play host to the Cincinnati Cyclones on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start time, while Saturday's game begins at 7:00 p.m.
