MR SIX IT:The Adirondack Thunder set an Adirondack hockey record with wifn in their first six games to open a season, breaking the previuos mark of five games, held by the 1988 and 1994 Adirondack Red Wings. The Thunder are now approaching the all-time ECHL mark of eight games.
COPS AND ROBS: Rob Bordson had a killer month of October, as he led all scorers with six goals and 11 points. The veteran forward paced the Thunder offense at nearly a two-points-per-game pace, including multiple points in four of Adirondack's six games. Bordson's totals also include a +4 rating and an overtime game winning goal, scored on October 23 against Brampton.
YES HE KEN: Goaltender Ken Appleby, the lone Thunder player on an NHL contract, with the New Jersey Devils, leads the Thunder with four wins from four games played, which is tied for second amongst all ECHL netminders. Appleby has amassed a 1.99 goals against average and a .935 save percentage, including a career best 37-saves on October 24 in a 4-2 win over Manchester.
YOU THE FLAN: Forward Kyle Flanagan is one of just 10 skaters in the ECHL to be averaging an assist per game with six total assists on the season. Flanagan has been one of the Thunder's most consistant playmakers, with the St. Lawrence graduate having collected a helper in five of Adirondack's six contests to date.
WE GOT THAT POWER: The Thunder continue to sizzle while on the power play as they lead the league with a 34.6% clip. The Thunder have nine goals, which ranks second in the league behind only Florida's 10 (in 10 games), on 26 attempts. Three Thunder players (Bordson, Louick Marcotte and Mathieu Brodeur) have netted multiple man advantage tallies this season.
