Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Allen Americans opened a three-game road trip tonight at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and it was the Tulsa Oilers coming out on top by a 3-1 score, ending the Americans four-game winning streak.
Justin Baker had the only Americans goal of the night, coming at 1:05 of the second period from Chad Costello. The Oilers outshot the Americans 20-17 for the game. Allen was 0 for 3 on the power play, while Tulsa was 0 for 2. Riley Gill made his first start of the season for Allen, stopping 17 of the 20 shots he faced.
"We couldn't get much going tonight," said Allen Americans forward Chad Costello. "We didn't put enough shots on net and never really tested Kevin Carr."
The Americans continue the three-game road trip on Friday night in Rapid City, South Dakota, at 8:05 pm. Watch all road games at the two official road watching destinations, The Franchise Grill and Bar in Plano, or 5th Street Pizza in Allen. Listen for free online at www.hot1073fm.com.
The Allen Americans return to the Allen Event Center on Tuesday, November 10th against the Wichita Thunder at 7:05 pm. Tickets for all Allen Americans home games are available online at www.ticketmaster.com or call 972-912-1000.
