Brampton Beast News Release

BRAMPTON, ON - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John's IceCaps and Montreal Canadiens, announce today that goaltender Jimmy Sarjeant has been signed to a Standard Player Contract and will report to the club this week.

Sarjeant, 25, was a workhorse for Mercyhurst College in the NCAA for the last four seasons, suiting up for 51 contests between the 2011-12 and 2014-15 seasons.

The Aurora, Ontario native's 2013-14 campaign was certainly one to remember as he played in 31 games and delivered a 2.46 goals-against-average with a .930 save percentage. He backstopped his squad to the top of the Atlantic Conference standings and earned his fair share of personal accolades, including Goaltender of the Year and Player of the Year, as well as a spot on the First All-Star Team.

Beast Head Coach Colin Chaulk is excited to see what the 6'0", 180-pound goaltender can do as he makes the transition from the college ranks to the pros.

"With injuries and call-ups, he has the opportunity to show us what he can do," Chaulk said. "He had a great college career and we're really thankful that he's here to help the team."

See Sarjeant in action this weekend as the Beast host the Manchester Monarchs at the Powerade Centre on Friday, November 6, Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8. Single game tickets are now available, starting at $16.25. Trial Packs for the 2015-16 season are also available starting at $39.99 that include three game tickets.
