Evansville IceMen News Release

FAMILIAR FOES

Evansville and Indy will get to know each other early and often in 2015-16. The Fuel won the first of 11 meetings 3-1 October 17 at the Ford Center. The two teams play twice this week (Wednesday and Friday) and twice more in December and March, and four times in January. The game Wednesday is the second of six of those meeting that are scheduled at the Ford Center.

IN THE WIN COLUMN

The IceMen notched their first win of the season on Halloween Saturday in Greenville against the Swamp Rabbits. After falling behind 2-0, Evansville scored three third period goals to grab the lead with 3:20 to play and hung on for the 3-2 victory. Goaltender Scott Greenham made 42 saves in the win and shutout Greenville in the final two periods. Rookies Vincent Dunn, Matthew Zay and Ryan Penny tallied their first ECHL goals.

WIDE OPEN

Binghamton, Evansville's AHL affiliate, assigned talented rookie forward Alex Wideman to the IceMen Monday, and he is expected to make his debut against the Fuel on Wednesday. The 5'7, 162 lbs winger played in two games for Binghamton and signed with the AHL club at the end of 2014-15 after finishing his college career at the University of Miami-Ohio. Wideman is a St. Louis native who will provide speed and skill to Evansville's forward group.
