Kalamazoo Wings News Release
KALAMAZOO, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings announced Tuesday that Darren Archibald has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Utica Comets.
Archibald, 25, has skated in six games with Kalamazoo this season, registering two goals. Archibald returns to Utica where he has skated in 129 games, notching 46 points and 209 PIMs since 2013. Archibald received a call-up from the Comets to the NHL during the 2013-14 season, and skated in 16 games with the Vancouver Canucks.
In a separate transaction, Dane Fox has been re-assigned to the Kalamazoo Wings from Utica by Vancouver.
Fox, 22, skated in one contest with the Comets during his weekend-long re-assignment. The forward has appeared in five games for Kalamazoo this season, and has registered an assist and eight penalty minutes. His 30 goals in 70 games last season were second most on Kalamazoo's roster. The second year pro, a native of Chatham, Ontario, was the Ontario Hockey League's leading goal scorer in the 2013-14 season with the Erie Otters and was named the OHL's overage player of the year.
The Kalamazoo Wings host NFL night on Sunday, November 8. With a 4 p.m. puck drop, the tailgate begins at 3 p.m. with a lounge area to watch your favorite NFL teams, inflatable games, and a chance to win either an Xbox One or a trip to Los Angeles to watch a taping of NFL Game Day Morning.
