'Gades Home Win Streak Now Four

The Richmond Renegades are 27-28-3 after going 2-2 last week. The ‘Gades are in seventh place in the Northeast Division, one point behind Charlotte, and nine points behind Trenton. Richmond plays three in a row at home (where they have won their last four games) this week.

THE WEEK AHEAD (ALL TIMES EASTERN)

Wednesday, February 26 vs. Lexington 7:05 PM GAME NOTES: The second and final meeting of the season and Lexington's only visit to Richmond. The ‘Gades beat the Men O' War 3-2 in overtime in October. Brad Church scored the game-winner. Lexington features ex-‘Gades Joe Vandermeer and Kevin Knopp.

Friday, February 28 vs. Atlantic City 7:35 PM

GAME NOTES: The eighth and final meeting of the season and the Bullies fourth visit to Richmond. ‘Gades are 2-5 against the Bullies, 2-1 at home, with both wins coming in overtime. Lars Pettersen has six points vs. the Bullies. Kevin Colley has nine vs. Richmond.

Saturday, March 1 vs. Reading 7:35 PM

GAME NOTES: The eighth and final meeting of the season and the fourth in Richmond. ‘Gades are 3-4 vs. the Royals, 2-1 here. Brad Church has 12 points vs. the Royals. Ex-‘Gade Brian McCullough has 15 vs. Richmond. ‘Gades are out-shooting Reading by an average of nine per game in the season series. LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

Tuesday, February 18 @ Reading LOSS 4-3

GAME NOTES: The ‘Gades scoreless streak reached 112:58 before Richmond exploded for three third period goals. The ‘Gades tied the game early in the third period on the first of two Lars Pettersen goals, but the Royals went back in front to stay just 1:04 later. Brandon Dietrich had a goal and assist for the Royals.

Wednesday, February 19 @ Atlantic City LOSS 5-2

GAME NOTES: The ‘Gades led 2-1 early in the third period but the Bullies erupted for four third period goals to stretch their unbeaten string to seven games. Paul Spadafora had a goal and two assists for the Bullies. Leon Hayward and Brad Church scored for Richmond.

Friday, February 21 vs. Pee Dee WIN 4-1

GAME NOTES: The ‘Gades returned home with a solid win over the Pride. Lars Pettersen scored the first of his two goals in the opening minute. Pettersen's second goal put the ‘Gades ahead to stay in the second period. Richard Pitirri scored shorthanded and Josh Harrold had three assists.

Saturday, February 22 vs. Trenton WIN 3-2

GAME NOTES: The ‘Gades jumped out early and held on to beat a Titans club that had lost only one of their last 12 games. Daniel Goneau and Josh Harrold scored their first goals as ‘Gades. Lars Pettersen also scored for Richmond. The ‘Gades out-shot the Titans 34-24.

GADES NOTES: The ‘Gades have won four straight home games by a combined score of 21-9. Richmond plays three more at home this week to conclude a five game homestand. The ‘Gades play nine straight road games in March. Richmond has lost their last eight road games and is winless is 10 straight away from home. The ‘Gades 21 home wins is tied for most in the league. Their six road wins is tied for fewest in the ECHL. Richmond suffered a loss when leading after two periods for the first time this season Wednesday at Atlantic City. Garret Stroshein remains on re-call with Portland of the AHL. He is the seventh ‘Gade to be called up this season. Branislav Kvetan refused to report following a trade with Louisiana and has been suspended. The ‘Gades placed Johnathan St. Louis on waivers. Josh Harrold had three assists in Friday's win over Pee Dee and scored his first goal as a Renegade (the game winner) Saturday vs. Trenton. Daniel Goneau scored his first as a ‘Gade Saturday. Lars Pettersen, Peter Hogan, and Brad Church have points in four straight games. The ‘Gades have 10 former NHL draft picks on their roster. Richmond has won their last two games. The ‘Gades have not won three in a row since early December. The ‘Gades win over Trenton was their fourth straight vs. the Titans. Richmond has allowed one even strength goal in their last two games. Lars Pettersen is 17th in the ECHL in points. Jon Zion is ninth in scoring by defensemen and leads the league in points by rookie D-men. Leon Hayward leads the ECHL in shorthanded goals by rookies (4). Marc Magliarditi is fifth in the league in minutes played. Brad Church is fifth in shots on goal. The ‘Gades are the least penalized team in the ECHL. They are eighth in penalty killing (82.6%), tied for second in shorthanded goals (14), and seventh in fewest shots on goal allowed (just over 30 per game). The ECHL trade deadline is Wednesday afternoon.
