
Mississippi Moves Back into Tie for First Place

BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi won two of three games last week and jumped back into a tie for first place with Louisiana in the Southwest Division.
Mississippi opened the week by falling 6-5 on Tuesday at Florida. The Sea Wolves handled Baton Rouge, 8-1 at the Riverside Centroplex on Saturday. Then on Sunday, Mississippi edged Pensacola, 3-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
After 58 games, the Sea Wolves have posted an overall record of 34-20-4 and 72 points. The Sea Wolves are 18-7-3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. On the road, Mississippi is 16-13-1.

It's the 10th game of 12 in the regular season head-to-head meetings. Mississippi has won the last five games in the season series and is 8-1-0 against Baton Rouge this season. The Sea Wolves lead the battle for the Coca-Cola Cup, 16 points to 2. Through four of six games at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, the Sea Wolves are 3-1-0 against the Kingfish.
Mississippi took the last game between the teams, 8-1 on February 22 at the Riverside Centroplex.
Dave Paradise leads the Sea Wolves against Baton Rouge with eight goals and 14 points. Steffon Walby is tops with 10 assists.
Of the active Kingfish players, Sam Paquet, Jason Norrie, Clark Jones and Mike Kiesman each have four points against Mississippi. Paquet and Norrie are tops with three goals. Kiesman is the team-leader with three assists versus the Sea Wolves.
The Sea Wolves all-time regular season record against the Kingfish through 51 games is 30-18-3.
Mississippi's all-time regular season record at the Wolves Den is 14-9-2 after 25 games.
Saturday, March 1 vs. Arkansas RiverBlades â 7:35 p.m. CT

Game nine of 12 in the regular season head-to-head meetings. Mississippi is 4-3-1 against Arkansas this season. Through three of six games at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, the Sea Wolves are 1-1-1 against the RiverBlades.
The Sea Wolves have won the last two games between the teams, including the last game at Arkansas, 7-1 on February 15.
Steffon Walby leads the Sea Wolves with 14 points (5g-9a) against the RiverBlades. Arkansas forward Buddy Smith has a team-high 10 assists and 12 points against the Sea Wolves. Jason Bermingham leads the way with five goals versus Mississippi.
The Sea Wolves all-time regular season record against the RiverBlades through 29 games is 17-9-3.
Mississippi's all-time regular season record at the Wolves Den is 5-4-2 after 11 games.
Player of the Week:
Forward Darryl Campbell registered three goals and four assists for seven points in three games last week. The 6-foot and 195-pound native of Strathroy, Ontario scored one goal and added two assists in the loss at Florida. He tallied two goals and collected an assist in the victory at Baton Rouge and added a helper in the win against Pensacola. Campbell has 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points in 52 games.
Goaltender of the Week:
Greg Gardner earned his 24th and 25th wins of the season last week. The 6-foot and 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario made a total of 69 saves on 72 shots for a .958 save percentage. He backstopped the Sea Wolves to victories over Baton Rouge and Pensacola. Gardner has posted a 25-14-4 overall record. He has the sixth best goals against average at 2.69 and is fourth in save percentage at .920.
Injured Reserve:
Forward Cody Bowtell and defenseman Sean Peach are on the 7-day injured reserve. Goaltender Mike Buckley and defenseman David Cornacchia remain on the 30-day IR.
