Kingston Frontenacs News Release

Kingston, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs return home to Slush Puppie Place tonight as they get set to face their East Division rivals, the Oshawa Generals. Puck drop is set for 7:05PM in what promises to be another heated chapter in this storied rivalry.

The Frontenacs come into the contest with a strong 2-1-0-1 record to start the season, but are still searching for their first win on home ice in the young season. Kingston has already seen success against Oshawa this year as they put together a third period comeback in the Generals' home opener, turning a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 win. That win was fueled by offensive depth and a group that continues to find chemistry early in the campaign.

Oshawa, meanwhile, has had a slower start to their season, entering tonight's game at 1-3-0-0. While the Generals will be looking to rebound and get back into the win column, the Frontenacs know they can't take their rival lightly. The Generals are always dangerous, especially in divisional matchups, and the Frontenacs know this all too well. Sparks always seem to fly when these two teams square off.

The Frontenacs' stars are living up to their billing, as Jacob Battaglia, Tyler Hopkins, and Kieren Dervin have all been lighting up the scoresheet since returning from their respective NHL training camps. The goal for the black and gold is to find chemistry among all four lines, which takes time when you have so many new faces in the locker room at the start of a season. Once that happens, Kingston should find more consistent play. Let's see how your Frontenacs fare tonight when the puck drops tonight in Kingston.

Players to Watch:

Kingston - Vann Williamson (#27)

One of the newly named assistant captains quietly leads the Frontenacs in points with five assists through four games on the season. Williamson quarterbacks the top powerplay unit alongside Battaglia, Hopkins, Dervin and Andrew Kuzma and it's a great opportunity for Williamson to pile up the points with all of that talent surrounding him. Vann is no slouch himself as he can make plays happen from anywhere on the ice.

Oshawa - Haxoi (Simon) Wang (#7)

The San Jose Sharks second round pick from the 2025 NHL Draft was just returned to the Generals earlier this week, meaning it looks like the defender will be making his season debut tonight against the Frontenacs. The towering 6'6" blueliner is a smooth skater and isn't afraid to lay the body. He's not known for his point production, but with moving from a depth role on a deep Generals team last season to being a leader on the backend this year; look for some more offensive flare from Wang.
